When Apple meets Google

To my vast amount of readers, I have to apologize. My blogs have been poorly formatted due to the issues between Safari and Google. I use my MacBook Air (So retired Hipster of me) to blog from. Blogger is owned an operated by google. As I reach back into the issues of safari vs Blogger I am seeing a trend of one does an update the other side has a compatibility issue. This comparability issue means the spell and grammar functions are not working. The first line of the blog is unreadable or omitted. This means I have had really crappy quality outside of my normal sentence structure. I first knew something was a miss when I could no longer post pictures to the blog. From there I just did not venture much into seeing if anything else was amiss. The pictures being inserted in a text format just meant I without pictures. No pictures is not a huge deal to me, maybe to you but not to me. My remedy is using a free word processing app Libre Office. So far my only issue, is not being able to insert pictures from my hard drive to the document. We will see how this goes forward, maybe Safari and Blogger will resolve the issue someday, but for now it is what it is. Thank You and Godspeed Dave

A glimpse behind the podcast

If you know you know Guitar Ted and I have been doing a lot of Podcasting in the last year. I can hear the improvements already. I have my issues, and I tend to over speak Mark way more than I should. In my defense, some pauses seem to be extraordinarily long and feels like dead air. So I interject. Then I listen back and I hear no pause In the moment it seems like a life time has passed. We chat over text messages about topics or subjects we are interested in or exploring. That is how we develop our subjects for a show. I have asked for and I really want to do a interview with a specific person that may be controversial. But I am also ignorant to a lot of things, so maybe the time is never right for that interview, who knows? I do enjoy some of the feed back from the shows. The ones I love is "not enough time spent on a topic". I enjoy those comments. I really want to say, you sir are correct that is intentional. If we dove into topics fully, we would be

The Dave Roll Waterloo Christmas Light Ride on 29th of November

Yes, we are starting a Waterloo Christmas ride. It is not intended to do anything other than be a reason to ride a bike a short distance and be around others. The length is a whopping 3 miles. To sum that is more miles than they have rode for the previous 10 years. That is the person I want there. If you want to bang out miles and demonstrate your cycling skills, there is a ride in Cedar Falls on the 5th of December for that. I believe they are meeting up 6pm and leaving from Overmen Park. Gravel HoF Inductee Ride for Mark

Guitar Ted, I think 2021 July Saturday ride. So if you are reading from outside of the glorious Cedar Valley you may not understand how close I live to Guitar Ted. I am less than a 5 minute bike ride away from his front porch. So it is fairly easy for me to coordinate a ride from time to time with him. Oddly enough I think I am the only person outside of Tony in the area that askes Mark to ride. I think a lot of people have a built up image of the "Gravel God" and his opinions on their rides. In reality, I think he is just happy to share some gravel ribbon with others. Often I have found he is more interested in the same things I am. I think we both enjoy, bridges, old churches, and cemeteries. And yes, we both have a thing for barns. I wont dive in to barns, but occasionally you see some Iowa State developed round barns that are gorgeous, and occasionally I see a Western New York style barn that gets me excited.
